Before and After in Wykagyl Area, Westchester, NY

Here is the before photo.  I came into this project while they were doing a major renovation.  They had already selected the woodwork and configured this entry foyer.  I was asked to create a warm and inviting space.  I felt like the space needed texture, finishes and a little sparkle.

I added the grasscloth wallpaper for textural depth and color.  It is a Designtex wallpaper in a griege colorway.  I love the way the supple leather contrasts with the painted console table and the Currey and Co sconces add the sparkle.  The mirror reflects the natural light from the sidelights creating an open feeling.

So here is the "Before" shot.... this is a Tudor Style house that was very dark but has good bones.  Note the mulberry walls.  Anything would have been a step up from those walls and the window treatments.  The clients moved into the house and were not able to renovate for quite some time.

Before!!!  Her favorite color is blue...not mulberry!

We are very happy with the "after" shot, although my iThing doesn't do it justice.  We are working on adding this to the portfolio section once the window treatments are installed.  The mirrored cabinet is just perfect for this spot.
